Who We Are
YWCA is on a mission to eliminate racism, empower women, stand up for social justice, help families, and strengthen communities. A regional leader for change since 1894, YWCA Seattle | King |t Snohomish operates 30 program sites across two counties and serves 15,000 people each year… YWCA works where we’re needed most to create real change every day through services and advocacy. We aim to eliminate disparities for women, girls, and marginalized communities with programs that build stable homes and promote economic advancement, improve health and end violence against women, and increase racial equity and social justice for all people.
What We Do
VOLUNTEER
At YWCA Seattle | King | Snohomish we offer engaging experiences that enable both staff and volunteers to grow personally and professionally. Put a volunteer’s skills and passions into action and serve as an advocate ally for women and families.
You can make a difference in your community through YWCA volunteer opportunities. There are many ways you can support women and families, including ongoing tasks, one-time events and group projects.
Ongoing projects are great for volunteers looking for a continuous and scheduled volunteer experience, typically involving a weekly commitment with a defined date and time. To participate in ongoing tasks, you will need to go through processing, including a pre-screen, in-person interview, references, background check, and signing confidentiality forms. Ongoing positions also require a minimum time commitment of three to six months, depending on the volunteer position.
One-time events are for those who need more flexibility in their schedules and cannot commit to volunteering on an ongoing basis. These positions usually have less contact with clients or residents. Any one-time event also makes for a great volunteer opportunity for groups!
