Rainier Athletes

Founded in 2012, Rainier Athletes is a growing community composed of student-athletes and their families, mentors, teachers, and coaches. Our mission is to empower underserved youth with a deeper sense of purpose and belonging by intentionally connecting this community. To promote our mission, we underwrite the cost of organized sports programs and provide around-the-clock mentoring support to our student athletes.

In partnership with the Bellevue School District, Rainier Athletes identifies students who face challenges in the classroom and are motivated by sports but do not have the necessary resources to fully participate in organized youth sports. After the student is selected, Rainier Athletes covers all sports related costs, pairs each student with a mentor, and works year-round to strengthen relationships between the student, the student's teachers, coaches, and family. The result is a student who feels a deeper sense of belonging and accountability whether at home, in the classroom, or out in the community.
