Volunteer: General VolunteerAt Hepatitis Education Project, we offer prevention and care services to support people impacted by viral hepatitis in Seattle. We also distribute a significant amount of naloxone, empowering our neighbors to stop overdose deaths in our community. We are looking for people to support us in our work. Right now HEP is working to strengthen our volunteer base. If you're interested in volunteering with us in the near future, please apply for this general listing and we'll be in touch with new, concrete opportunities soon! We typically need volunteers to help us run our syringe services program and to pack kits for us (overdose reversal kits, wound care kits, etc.), but would love to discuss your specific schedule and interests in order to find the best fit for you as a volunteer at our organization. Have your own ideas about how you can support our work? Let's talk about it! We can have volunteers at our office Monday-Thursday from 9am - 5:30pm, though exact times may vary depending on what kind of volunteer work you are interested in doing with us. Please schedule a time to meet with us ahead of showing up to volunteer by responding to this opportunity or emailing us at volunteers@hep.org. Volunteer: Syringe Service Table workerHepatitis Education Project (HEP) needs regular volunteers to assist us in running our syringe services program (SSP). At our SSP, volunteers provide our clients with important harm reduction resources such as overdose reversal kits (naloxone) and sterile supplies for safer drug use. This is an incredible opportunity for anyone who enjoys talking to people and supporting our neighbors. Come help us in our mission to prevent overdose deaths and the spread of hepatitis in our community! Our SSP is open Monday-Thursday from 12:30PM-5:30PM. We are currently looking for a weekly volunteer who can work the full shift on Wednesdays, but we are open to discussing shorter or less frequent shifts if needed. If you are interested in volunteering with us but that time does not work for you, or if you are interested in learning about other volunteer opportunities besides running our SSP, we would still love to hear from you. Our parking lot is located to the right of our building. Look for POD storage in back. Masks are required for volunteers and staff.
