Opportunities From: Bellevue College

Volunteer: Celebration/Community Dinner

Volunteer Opportunity: Host a Community or Celebration Dinner: Join us in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for 30–35 moms and kids who are rebuilding their lives after experiencing homelessness. As a dinner host, you'll help provide a meaningful evening of connection, encouragement, and care — ultimately creating lasting life change through community.

Celebration Dinner – 2nd Wednesday of the Month: Celebrate monthly birthdays and recovery anniversaries with us! Volunteers provide a special meal and cake, and help make the evening feel memorable for those being honored.

Community Dinner – 4th Wednesday of the Month: Foster connection through food in a relaxed, family-friendly setting. Volunteers prepare and serve dinner while engaging with residents in a casual, relational way. Your presence helps our families feel seen, supported, and valued.

Location: Duvall, WA 98019

Time Commitment: This opportunity is available on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of every month from 5:30–7:15PM (dinner served at 6:00PM). You’re welcome to sign up for a single evening or volunteer regularly — whatever works best for you!

Major Responsibilities: Promote a welcoming and celebratory atmosphere for our residents. Provide and serve dinner for up to 30–35 moms and kids. Dinner should be ready by 6:00PM. Help with set-up: wipe down counters, set out dishes, and set up the beverage station. Enjoy dinner and engage meaningfully with the families. Package and store leftovers (in refrigerator or freezer). Assist with clean-up after the event. Share feedback with staff after the dinner.

Desired Qualifications: Passionate about creating a positive and welcoming space. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to plan, prepare, or coordinate a meal for 30-35 moms and kids. Openness to learning about our mission. Respectful and sensitive to different cultures, languages, and life experiences.

Benefits: Make a meaningful impact in the lives of women and children. Contribute to a supportive and healing community. Gain experience in hospitality and social services. Connect with people from diverse backgrounds. Have fun while making a difference!

Next Steps to Get Involved: Complete our Volunteer Application. Schedule a short Meet & Greet with our Volunteer Coordinator. Please complete both steps in advance of the dinner event to allow time for onboarding.

Additional Details: Maximum of 5 volunteers per dinner night. Children ages 12+ are welcome — please have them sign up individually. Headcount and allergy information will be provided to leads closer to the event.

Once you’ve completed the application and Meet & Greet, you do not need to repeat them for future dinners. Questions? Email us at volunteer@acresofdiamonds.org. We’re excited to have you join our community!
