Who We Are

300 Trees is a branch of the environmental group 350 Eastside, a chapter of the global environmental movement 350.org.

Our name, 300 Trees, is a tribute to the hundreds of trees that were needlessly cut down in East Bellevue by Puget Sound Energy to build a redundant power line in 2020.

Although we lost the battle to save those mature trees, we are determined to take actions today that will create a greener, more vibrant urban world for our kids and grandkids.

Instead of continuing to fight PSE and our city, we see enormous opportunities to build partnerships and serve our community.

One tree at a time.

What We Do

With a challenge this big, there are abundant opportunities for volunteers of every age and experience level with a wide array of skills.

Here are just a few of the things you might do:

  • Students, let’s work with your school, scout troop, or volunteer organization to invest in your future.
  • Churches, let’s find ways we can work together to be good stewards of our creator’s beautiful world.
  • Green thumb?  Help us grow the next generation of Bellevue’s trees.
  • Helping to plant small trees is great outdoor exercise and a chance to make new friends.
  • Are you internet savvy?  Help us spread the word on social media.
  • Is there room for more trees on your block?  Let’s organize neighbors to improve our city near your home.
  • Property managers, let’s plant trees to improve the value of your properties and quality of life for your renters.
  • Innovators, can you help us brainstorm new solutions and technologies that will take us to the next level?
  • Finance whiz?  Help us find funding and cut costs to supercharge our results.

If you didn’t see your cup of tea in that list, maybe you have a skill we haven’t even thought of yet.  Tell us what we’re missing!
